Sites may only be listed in ONE CATEGORY - except Priority & Logo Listings, which may appear in TWO CATEGORIES.
We reserve the right to edit site titles and/or descriptions and move sites to different categories as we see fit.
COMPLETE SITES ONLY please - no stand-alone
"single-page" articles will be allowed to have listings in
their own right. But "Umbrella" or "Index" pages
containing links to such articles WILL be allowed if the number of links and
content is substantial enough.

How do I change my listing on
Aklan Dot Com?
Just go to the following location: - Modify a Site
Bear in mind that Aklan Dot Com reserves the right to decide
under which category
your site should be listed.
Those with Priority
& Logo Listing 
can change their
site's weight to adjust the credits deducted per clickthrough - from 1 credit
per clickthrough up to 20 credits per clickthrough. Priority sites with
greater weights are listed above those with lower ones. A
site owner may adjust the weighting to 0 (zero) which temporarily turns off
the site's priority status. The remaining credits are preserved until priority
status is reactivated by the site owner increasing the weighting to 1 (one) or
more. All priority listings lose their priority status after the credits run
out, and return to their normal "free listing" status
Those with Logo Listing enabled
can change the URL of their logo, as well as its width and height in pixels.

How do I remove my listing from Aklan Dot Com?

Very few. No site will be rejected provided it fulfils the

What do the red stars mean, and how
does my site get on the
page?
A site must have a rating of at least 8.1000 before it can begin to receive any red stars. The higher a site's rating, the more stars it will get (maximum 5).
The 300 listed sites with the highest rating are listed as
and appear on the "best rated" page.
Voting is conducted by our visitors according to the following scale: -
10 = Excellent
9 = Good
8 = Fair
7 = Below standard
6 = Bad
5 = Very Bad
Voting Rules:
Each visitor is allowed to vote once every few hours or so (but only once per day for the same site), and each site may receive a maximum of approximately 6 votes per day. The intervals between voting windows are staggered on a random basis to prevent cheats from monopolising the system.
All newly-listed sites are given an initial
default rating of 8.0000 (on a scale from 5 to 10).
The rating is treated as being the average of
300 votes. This average will change over
time as visitors submit their votes for the site.
Rate scores (from 5 to 10), if less than average,
are first added to (2 x current rating) and divided by 3.

Why are your voting procedures so strict?
To prevent abuse of the voting system, we restrict voting to
a reasonable level. We apologise to all those who were previously in the
habit of giving their own site a perfect vote of 10, fifty times a day using different IP
addresses, while giving the lowest mark (fifty times a day) to their
major rivals in the listings. This practice is no longer possible. We know this will upset those
who have invested in sophisticated IP cloaking services in order to manipulate the system, and
we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
